1950s

During the 1950s Rex Ashlock began experimenting with style. He was also beginning to investigate a subject from various angles. This tendency to series – one version of a subject often not being enough to satisfy his imagination – will recur throughout his life. Towards the end of the decade the bridges he was painting grew increasing abstract, melting into the sea below.
